Our 3 year old got on the computer just for a minute or two and played around with the keyboard. We were in the room at the time and didn't hear any alerts or notice any windows opening. Now, however, we are unable to do virtually anything. We can't even see or access the toolbars, nav bar or Apple menu, not even to shut down. If we try to use the mouse, the entire background on the desktop moves around from side to side and the cursor wobbles around all crazy-like. We have never seen or heard of any such thing happening before. my husband thinks he fried it! I can't imagine he could have done that much damage in such a short time! Help!!!!!

Reset Open Firmware.
Reboot your computer while holding down Command-
Option-O-F. At the prompt, type

reset-nvram and hit the Return key, then type
reset-all and hit the Return key again. Your computer will
reboot.

try starting up from the CD it came with. this will tell you if
it's hardware (very unlikely, unless water was spilled onto the
keyboard) or software.

Maybe time for a clean install...
