I have a PowerBook 1400c/117 with a
internal NuBus Ethernet card. I am using
Mac OS8.5. In my System Profiler I find
the card and info is:Card ID: 1744
Card name: .Focus ValueNet
Card version: EN EPIC ROM 1.1The only thing I can find on the Ethernet
card is:Part nr.: 10070
FCC ID: 10070
P/N : 10070-3Under the code stripe it says:
B08994.I get a message stating "cannot find
Ethernet Address" and then
AppleTalk goes back to modem/printer.
How can I access the Ethernet Address
to this card?
Does anyone have a driver for this
card???
I canīt seem to find it anywhere.
Please mail me at : ar-hagen@online.no

If you open the TCP/IP control panel and click on the lower left 'options' button you will be presented with your macs IP address. I don't know what you need an ETHERNET address for, but I think you may find your IP address helpful in your current dilemma.

Thanks fierci, but the Macs IP address
doesnīt show. Tells me "not available".
That is the first thing I checked out. Any
other ideas?

I, too, have a PB1400c/117. I, also, have a Focus Enhancements ValueNet Ethernet card. This card was working fine (original PB1400 MacOS -- "About this Macintosh" said 7.5.3 Update 2) up until 5/18/01, when the original HD had a head crash. Got a new HD put in, installed MacOS 8.6, and now my "Ethernet is not available". Did anyone come up with a driver or "trick" to get this working ? If not, I do have backups of my original OS/software, although a quick scan does not show any unique extensions or anything. I seem to remember having an install disk, but I haven't hunted high and low for it (yet!). Any help would be appreciated (before I give up and go back to 7.5.3 Update 2 and restore my System from backup).
