I have a Stylus Photo 1270 and a beige G3
Apple . I am running OS 8.6 . I have
installed a Belkin PCI card and Apple Support
Card driver 1.3.5. The card and all its
details are displayed in The Apple System
Profiler. I have set the default printer in
The Location Manager as StyleWriter 1200.
This also appears in The Apple System
Profiler.
Apple Talk is turned off. In The Chooser I
see the icon of the default printer and the
SP 1270. I can select either and the
relevent port. When I close the window and
immediately open it again the printer is no
longer selected. If the SP 1270 has been
selected and I decide to change to the
default printer by double clicking on the
desk top default printer icon, the SP 1270
print dialogue boxes appear.
When I try to print from the SP 1270 I get
the messgae that the printer is not
responding and to make sure it is online.,
the same as for the default printer which I
do not have
The cables are secure. The printer is turned
on and I have tested the printer at a nearby
college and it works. I performed a clean
installation of the system software, run
Norton Utilities,
