Don't turn off the power strip when you've shut the computer down.

A wild guess: the PRAM battery is bad (and since the machine is so new, probably was bad to begin with) and the Mac is getting very confused when the CUDA chip loses power.

Yes, you should tell Apple this problem is occurring, especially since it's a new machine and still (obviously) under warranty.

No, it probably won't cause other problems if you don't fix it, but it sure would be annoying to me if it were my machine, so I'd get it fixed.

update, yesterday i picked the computer up, there
where no problems. they checked the p-ram
battery and everything, anyway, i am begining to
think there is somthing wrong with my power strip,
or, (possibly) somthing wrong with the keybord or
mouse, because of course when i took the
computer in it lost power , but it booted up just fine
for them and it booted up for me just fine when i
got it home, thanks again, Brandon

Hey Guys, I've got a problem. My eMac chimes on startup but the screen stays black. It won't do anything else, I've tried rebooting it but it is as dead as a dodo!
HELP!
