dvd problem

OS: MAC OS 9.2
CPU/Ram: 1Ghz/512Mb

Hi guys!
when i try to burn a dvd, using "disc
burner", it doesn't start and says me that
dvd is protect but it's a new blank one!
Can someone tell me why???

See if you have the hard disk set to sleep in Energy Saver.
