DVD converter for OSX

Hi,
I have rough video material on a DVD and want to edit it in Final Cut Pro how can I do this. Is there a program to convert the dvd video material to something useable a program like (DVD shrink for windows). Greetz thanks in advance

cant recall the name since im not at work and i run only linux and bsd at home (im poor) but i know there was a vcd ripping program at the apple site under downloads try a search with vcd as the parameter
if you cant find ont there try one of the open source alternative like cinelara (you would need fink or darwinports)
