Dual boot OsX Tiger & OsXserver 4

Original Message

Subject: Dual boot OsX Tiger & OsXserver 4
OS: OS X 10.4.2 server
CPU/Ram: 1.67 512ram
Comment:
hallo anyone can help me?

1)My OS X tiger 10.4.2 was installed on the first partition of a powerbook (17' last model january 1st 2006) with 3 partitions.

2)When I reached the point where i must choose the partition, I could not chose the second partition where I wanted to install it. The only one allowed was the first one where OS X (normal) already was.
So I had to choose to install the Server on top of OS X normal and now it is the only one to boot. There is NOT DUAL BOOT.
Why?? What is the problem?
Why the 2 and 3 partitions are dimmed when during the installation I want to choose it to install osx server?
How should I prepare and format them with the utility disco?

thanks

I have not tried this myself but reading through Apple's
support site I came across the following address:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=31068

What they said there was:
"Now it is not supported or possible to create multiple UFS
volumes on the same physical hard disk. However, it is
possible to add multiple physical hard disks and format
them in UFS."

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are doing but that
is a good place to go to get specific questions answered.

Good luck!
