DSL fine slow browsing like dial up

My dsl connection speed is where it should be but my connection browsing speed is slow...ugg...just like dial up. It's confusing because I know my dsl is running fine...any suggestions? ;}

Try www.zooka.org but do it in any browser than Safari. Aparently this doesn't work well in that browser but I've been successful in Firefox. It downloads a picture file and then tells you how fast your internet connection is. Compare it to your expected value.

true try fire fox, or see if your isp anc give u a static ip address that is just for you. the more poeple on the line the slower it works same with dail up the isp just will not admit it, also if you are connecting via air port turn interfernc robostness on under the airport icon

Summary: Modem/connection was working fine. Changed config to connect via temporary cable router. Now I can't get the dial up to function. AOL had me delete preferences and turn apple talk off(via chooser)....
Summary: you can use open transport PPP and TCP/IP on a mac running system 7.5.5 to establish a dial up connection. If you use a higher OS, like 8.1 or 8.6 then you can use Remote access....
