dragging problem in Jaguar

Comment:
I just installed Jaguar on my iMac (slot- loading) 600MHz G3 on top of 9.2.2 and in OS X whenever I try to drag the mouse instead double- clicks. The firmware was up to date before I installed and the keyboard and mouse are both Apple and came with the computer. The problem was present during the initial OS X setup. I updated to 10.2.6 using Software Update but it did not fix the problem. I tried using Dragster and it didn't do anything. Does anyone know about this or has anyone even heard of it before? I'm going to try reinstalling to see if that will fix it.

Can you replicate this with other mice?
It sounds vaguely like OS X thinks your mouse is a trackpad. When you go into your mouse System Settings, does it give you trackpad settings or just the tracking and double-click speed?
