Does an airport extreme base station act as a router? I
want to split my ethernet line coming from the dsl modem
between my wirless access point, and going physically
into my desktop, and was wondering if the airport
extreme base station would do this.

Thanks.

Yes, it is a wireless router, but you can buy much cheaper
wireless routers, Netgear, Buffalo, etc.
