hi, i have a D-link router connected to a cable DSL external modem. I have 1 desktop win XP computer on the network running wirelessly absolutly fine and 1 Macintosh iBook, i can see the network on the mac but under network status in system preferences it says that airport has a self assigned IP adress and may not be able to connect to the internet. What is this problem, thanks.

I have the same problem. Even Dlink router claims to work with a mac it doesn't. It works fine with PC.
dhcp IS enabled, the system generates a dynamic IP address. Airport believes it is online when infact there is no connection. It works with mac and a net clable though
