Divx video, but no audio

I downloaded an avi file that is in Divx 5 format. I can open it up just fine with my Quicktime player, and the video is beautiful, but the audio not there....exactly. I can tell that it is there because it breaks through very briefly every now and again, just enough to raise those three audio bars on the bottom right side of my player. I checked and found that the audio is in MPEG Layer 3 format. I can't find anything to get this audio to work. Not even my Divx Validator that came with my Divx codec works. What should I so?
hi!.. If you do manage to find out...please do let me know. The Divx readme says that its a problem with Appple QT and that as of now there is no solution. Again..if you manage to get it working please do lemme know. :-)

I have the same problem, but it's not a Mac thing, its windows. I downloaded DivX5.1 and the video is great, but there is just no sound.

Help I also have that problem, I see perfect picture of the video but there is no sound....ac3???
Video, no audio: Download the Divx 3.11 codec from http://www.divxmovies.com/codec/ Do NOT overwrite the new files when it asks. Your files should now play fine. :)
