Is there anyway to connect a Mac to a PC via parallel cable?

No. Use 10 base T ethernet and proper software.

On mac you have not parallel port.
You have RS 422 ON mac and RS 232 on PC
I not test direct cable connection.
The mest is PC - HUB - MAC

Yes. but i dont remember how, it was a big mess and required lots of adapters, get a nic in your pc, get a nic mac, get a "cross over cable" hook em up, get dave...or WindowsNT

I agree with response Number 1 it's the least expensive and more practical...

Connect your mac to an ethernet net...

Configure your tcp/ip control panel to run through your ehternet port and give it an ip address... wich ever you want...(192.168.1.x)

Connect your PC to the same net with an ehternet adapter and configure that tcp/ip protocol with an ip address...(192.168.1.y)

If your goal is to share information between your computers, the simplest way is a FTP server on one machine and an FTP client on the other...
