Dial up + network problem

I have successfully networked a mac to our windows workgroup using TCP/IP. The MAC is able to see our computers and avail of file and print sharing servcies with our other PC's. The problem arises because we all use individual dial-ups to connect to the internet. When the MAC dials-up to the Internet it loses its local area newtork services. To be able to restore LAN services the user must disconnect his dial-up connection. Both Ehethernet and Dial-up connections are configured in the "Location" panel. The ethernet connection is given priority but this seems to make no difference when the user dials-up. Is there a way to have it both ways or is this behavior built in to the MAC?

I have a similar problem. Dlink DI514 router works great with a IBM Thinkpad running Windows XP. My MAC I-book with OS10.3.5 recognizes the network, generates a dynamic IP address and claims to be connected to the internet, but the browsers can't find the internet. I have disabled and enabled and disabeld WEP encryption, MAC filtering and SSID. I have resetted the router twenty times, and nothing helps. In D-links manual MACINTOSH OS 10 is mentioned as a compatible platform. It is very very strange. Support phone here in Denmark finds it odd but cannot help,
