OS: OS 9.2.2
CPU/Ram: 500Mhz

Hello!
I recently installed something in OSX then restarted and upon loading a load of gobbledegook (numbers, letters etc...) appeared, the last of it said:
"Panic: we are stopping here"
I assumed this was a virus but am not sure. I got back to OS9 which seems to work fine. BUT I now want to delete OSX completely from my computer, is this possible? and how is it done? Also I recently upgraded to OS 9.2.2 from OS 9.1 and would also like to delete this OS (OS 9.1)as I don't want all these OS's on my system that I won't ever use. Can I do this?
I am also wondering if it is possible to delete everything from the computer and have it as if it were new? Sort of like reformatting on a PC would do. How can I do this and is it difficult?
Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance
Ed

Deleteing OS-X I'm so proud of you :)

Delete these folders "system", "Applications" "Library", be sure to remove all OS 9 apps from applications if you have any in there. Also delete the mach files. Do NOT delete the "System Folder" or "Applications (Mac OS 9)" folder.

Now if only more people would follow your example maybe apple would get back on the right track with its older OS. The one I spent soooo many years supporting that is not defunct along with my 7 years :(

You can delete everything or re-format it if you have an OS 9 boot CD. Boot off the CD, highlight the HD and select "Special"-"Erase Disk..."

Hey thanks for the info everyone.

I'm with you Outlander, OSX is not for me at all. Much prefer OS9.

I am wondering is the OS9 boot cd is that software restore or software in stall cd?
or is it actually called OS9 boot cd?

I should have it somewhere if it came with the Mac when I bought it.

The version number will be in fine print on the CD. If it is bootable.

OSX is like eating a nice T-bone steak.
OS9 is like eating T-Rex steak.
