Alfonso, Try removing any aliases from both the 'Recent Servers' (Apple Menu) and the 'Servers' (SysFldr) folders. As the OS attempts to poll these entries. Also if you are running OS9 checkout a shW pgm called AutoPurge which will get rid of any deleted hidden files (bug in OS)
Lastely think about running a defrag via TechTolls or Norton.

Also, make sure that your startup disk control panel is set to your hard drive and not to network.
