OS: OS7
CPU/Ram: mac
Model/Manufacturer: lc475
Comment:
My hardrive started slowing down and finally
quit doing anything but making a few funny
sounds. Is there anything I can do on my own
(have a G4 cube too - OS9)? Right now it
seems it's either lose everthing or pay
about $1000 to the pros. Also, I want to
transfer my library of typefaces from 3.5
discs to my G4. Am I right in assuming that
an LS120 superdisk will do this? Thanks.

if you can start up with the disk connected and turned on,
(from another disk, obviously) , even if it doesnt mount,
you *might* be able to get stuff off of it using Data
Rescue..i just lost a harddrive too, and if I could start up
with it connected I could get stuff off of it..in my case
though the damage to the bad drive keeps me from being
able to boot while it's connected...but it has worked for
me in the past...
I dont know where you'd find it though, although as a
shareware product it should be available for download
somewhere..it's OS9 and earlier only, though...
Disk Warrior does the same thing, too, I believe...
However, If the stuff on that drive is genuinely *worth*
spending 1000$ on to recover, though, then I'd suggest
don't do anything that could kill the disk further, and bite
the financial bullett, so to speak....
