dead G3 with strange message

g3 with 2 HD's OS X on one and 9.2 on other. I was trying to back up OS X and after it completed, nothing works. First I get the chime, then a whitish screen with "unknown word_" at the top. I tried rebooting from CD, the 9.2 drive etc and still get same message. I tried resetting the pramm and the motherboard switch - still dead. I even took the OS X drive out and still get the same message. I been at this Mac thing for a while and this is the worst I've been able to break
