Is it possible to customize my desktop icons in mac os9? I also have an old macintosh se/30 and was able to put cool little pics for my icons rather than the standard folders and stuff. Does anyone know if this is possible to do with an iMac g3 running os9?

Absolutely! There are a number of icon editing applications out there, such as CP Icon Edit, but you can also download custom icons and paste them in without any additional software. Highlight an icon that you like and choose Get Info from the file menu. Click on the icon in the Get Info window. Choose Copy from the Edit menu (or Command C on your keyboard). Close the window and find and highlight the icon you wish to change. Get Info on that icon and click on the icon in the window. Then select Paste from the Edit menu (or Command V). Your icon is now replaced.
Icon editing applications can be found at www.versiontracker.com. Apps and downloadable icons are available at www.tucows.com. once you find the Mac page on these sites, bookmark them.
