How can i read and write on cd-rw's with my mac and windows 98 computer and be able to read and change all the files on the cd's with both of my computers without reformating the cd's first? Just like you would on a floppy disk but my mac computer doesn't have one!

Use the ISO9660 format. It's supported by both OSs.
There is a utility (TransMac) that will allow your PC to read Mac disks... Macs can read PC disks.

You can't re-write CDs without reformatting them on a Mac, though I believe there was some software for this on Windoze a while back (might need Win2K tho).
Summary: Thanks for your response. Does this mean that Mac OS X does not have any built in cd-burning capability for cd-rw's? I thought it would be a simple matter to add some data to my existing cd-rw backup...
