You can try this web page with some basic mac networking: http://www.macnn.com/mactips/archive/ti p30.shtml or you can beg, borrow, don't steal (bad karma) "More Macs for Dummies" (p. 283, Ch. 19) for quite a good step by step approach. I hope this helps

AppleTalk zones, IIRC, can only be created by routers on your network. The various Macs cannot create them.
May I ask why you want to create one?

Thanks Pickle!
OK, I see, you need a router to set up a AppleTalk zone and no Macs can act as a router. Now, what kind of router is this? An Apple-specific router?
Pickle, I was just curious as to how a zone was created in the first place.

Something like a Farallon StarRouter or Cayman GatorBox or GatorStar can do it. Any router that can speak AppleTalk can do it, but I can't think of any that are still being made.
Unless you have a really really really big AppleTalk network, and specifically need to separate it into zones, there's not much point in them :)
