I was given a mac Ibook last year that was a donation to my classroom. I guess it was a 'test' one, so I don't have any software for it. I have only used it a few times and even got a printer for it. Problem: it crashes almost every time. It crashed before I got the printer, seemed to get worse after. I have lost everything on it and don't know how to back anything up. It is OS 9.1, and there is a 'Survival' option on the pull down menus. I cannot open the Apple System Profiler to check history because of (Error-2753). This is all that I know. Any help/direction/advice/?

Throw out your Preferences folder and restart. See if that helps at all.
