Am i going crazy or something? in Mac OS 8, you could control + click the icons on the desktop to, say, empty the trash or whatever or you could control + click the icons in folders to do stuff. It won't work! Is it disabled somewhere? i can't find where to enable it. the control key works in other applications tho, but not Finder. any ideas?

See if the Contextual Menu Enabler extension is disabled.
