Comment:

The following equipment is connected to my Mac
G3 PowerPC, and I would appreciate knowing if it
is possible to transfer it to my PowerBook G4
running OSX v10.2.3 (which, of course, has only
Ethernet and USB connections). If so, what cable
or devices are needed to connect?

- Iomega Jazz drive connected via SCSI
- HP ScanJet 5p connected via SCSI
- ZyXEL omni net ISDN Modem connected via
the "modem" socket

Many thanks

john

ISDN probably not.

SCSI devices can be connected to the FireWire port using a FireWire-to-SCSI converter.

Thanks - I never thought of trying firewire.

BUT is ISDN itself really a problem? From the
mac's viewpoint, I would have thought the modem
just looks like a modem - any old modem - and
that ISDN is just the modem's own view of the
telephone newtork?

Yeah, but you can't connect the modem without an adapter, and both modem and adapter would have to be supported in OS X, and I have yet to hear of anyone getting a serial-based ISDN modem working in OS X.
