I need help in solving the problem on my computer that says "type error 11" and restart the computer all the time when I am surfing the net. I have a Power PC-Macintosh 7300/180. I have added two 16 mags of ram recently.

Type 11 errors are fairly common; a little more information would help.

-What version of OS are you using?
-What browser are using?
-When did the crashes start happening?
-Are the crashes random, or do they happen when accessing certain sites or performing specific tasks?
-Are any other programs running?

Since you're running 7.5, a type 11 error could
mean almost anything. Apple wasn't very specific
back then. Type 11 is generally supposed to be a
hardware error. You could try temporarily
removing your new RAM, but I doubt that this is
your problem. How much memory do you have
allotted to Netscape? Before I upgraded my Mac
and OS, I had a lot of similar problems. I
eliminated a bunch of crashes by giving Netscape a
little more RAM to work with (Get Info on
Netscape and bump up the Preferred Memory
setting). Sometimes these problems can be solved
by zapping the PRAM. Restart your Mac and hold
down P, R, option, and command while it's booting
up. Hold them down until you have heard the
startup chime three or more times. You will then
need to reset some of your control panel settings
(volume, mouse tracking, and a couple others are
stored in PRAM). For more complete PRAM deletion
or to run some tests of your system, download the
free TechTool from www.micromat.com.
