I want to reinstall everything from scratch on an LCIII. I have forgotten the command sequence to do that. Also, will System 7.5 run okay onthe LCIII. Presently using 7.1 I'm fixing up an e-mailing system on the old Mac for my mother-in law! Thanks.

The 'command sequence' as you put it, does not exist. You need to use the installer floppies and re-initialize the hard drive using the 'drive setup' utility that's on the first installer floppy. Then re-install the O/S as usual. I would stick with 7.1. It's a good, efficient O/S for your low mhz, hardware deficient LCIII. You probably don;t have enough ram to support a higher O/S, and for word processing and e-mail you can keep the O/S as light as possible because you only need enough resources to dial in and run a browser (try Eudora or Outlook Express, as they don't have the additional weight of a browser tacked on to them).

That is because MAC OS doesn't replace every file in the old OS with the new one. I have seen MAC that came with 7.1 and now are 9.0.4 and still have some files from 7.6. It's not a big deal.
