Comment:

I recently installed an new hard drive (slave) in my "mirror door" G4 and after turning it back on, noted that my color scheme had changed--the reds and greens were muted. Every thing else seems to be running normally. I've tried taking the hard drive out and reordering the RAM, just in case that was the problem, but to no avail. I'm wondering if somehow I shorted my video card (an older ATI Radeon, I think a 9000? Came with the system)? Any thoughts? Is there anyway to "reset" the card or the video ram?

Thanks!

Never underestimate the simple solutions...

While checking my monitor cable, "just in case", I found that several of the pins on the connector had been bent over. After straightening them and restarting, the colors are all back to normal.
