clean installing Mac OS

Someone told me that when I first recieve a mac, I should do a clean install of the os. How do I go about doing this? I've done it before but forgot everything. Is there a website that tells me how to do it? Thanks ahead of time.

Unless you're having *problems* with the Mac, there's really no reason to do it.
Clean Install is an option in the Installer on the OS CD.

i have a blue/white G3 350 with OS 9.1 My installation did not give me a choice to do a clean install. Is there another way to do it. a fresh new format

You didn't check the Options box, did you? The Clean Install option is in there. Click Options and you'll get it.
