Like a number of other posters I loaded OSX 10.2
without OS 9.1 for classic. I now want to add Classic
and am having some difficulty.
When I try to start Classic I get folowing msg:

"The system software on the startupdisk only
functions on the origional media, not if copied to
another drive." (restart)

Click restart and nothing

I thought about reinstalling from OS9 to 9.1 but
when I tried it I was informed I could only do a clean
install. problem is I need OS9 to load Toast to back
up data onto a CD so if I clean install I lose
everything.

You don't lose anything with a clean install.
