OS: 9.0 ?
CPU/Ram: ?
Model/Manufacturer: Mac-M6411
Comment:

I picked up a M6411, and I am not familiar much with Macs, but when I turn it on I get a folder with a question mark and it switches to a folder with faces in it so I purchased a Mac restore for 9.0, it says to hold c key and turn on I get no response but I can hear the cd running. I to don't know how to get to setup or how to get it to read the cd. HELP

You need the restore CD specific to that model iBook, or a
retail version of OS 9.

try booting with extensions off(shift key)
to boot from cd hold C key down, with cd installed,
check cables, drive,battery ans switches,

you need the CD called Software Install, not
the Restore disk.

the clamshell ibooks are capable of running OS X 10.3. i'm not sure about 10.4. Upgrade the ram to 512mb+ and it should work fine.

http://www.lowendmac.com is a good site.
