I prefer list view in my folders instead of icons. Is there a way to change the default view on my machine, rather than changeing the view on each folder after I open it?

Thanks Pickle,but...
Unless I'm missing something, this does not work. You can change your Standard View for List, Buttons or Icons, but you are not offered the option to change your standard view TO List (etc).
I can change each window/folder to List view, but it does not affect subfolders, which will still come up with icons...
Any further thoughts?

When new folders are created, they're always in Icon view.
There's a checkbox for making your view prefs global, though.
