CD-RW cannot be modified?

Hey there guys,
I recently purchased a G4 Powerbook, and absolutely love it. In october I used a blank CD-RW to back up some of my word documents by "dragging and dropping" the files.
Now however, when I attempt to do the same thing, I receive a message saying, "the file cannot be moved, because the file cannot be modified".
This is a cd-rw in rewritable drive, so there should be no problem in adding more files. Thanks for your assistance, I'm new to the mac and am still trying to find my way around.

By CD-RW, it means that when you rewrite the cd, it also deletes the things on the disks. The only way I have been able to burn a CD-RW is to use Toast Titanium and format the CD-RW. This is the only way I have been able to do it. There may be other ways. Good Luck

Thanks for your response.
Does this mean that Mac OS X does not have any built in cd-burning capability for cd-rw's? I thought it would be a simple matter to add some data to my existing cd-rw backup.

Yes, Mac OS X does have capabilities to burn CD-RW when their blank. To my knowledge you cannot add to a CD-RW disk. I would suggest if you want to back up your data on a regular basis, to get a USB or FireWire external hard drive.
Good Luck, mac24.7.365
