Comment: CD RW disk burned in Finder in OS 9.2.1 can't be read by OS 10.2.1. Also, I can't burn in the OSX finder-only with Toast. Fantom tech support told me Apple did this on purpose for purposes which I consider anti- competitive. Is this true?

Reply: (edit)I've never been able to burn in the OS X Finder, but probably because I've never really tried that hard. Disk Copy works fine, though. p

Reply: (edit)Update: I can burn CD-Rs just fine in the Finder under 10.2.1. No idea about CD-RW because I don't have any media handy. p

Reply: (edit)Would you please tell me what kind of CD-RW drive you have. Mine is a FantomDrives 40x12x40 external firewire. Thanks!

Reply: (edit)That might be your problem. Is it supported by Apple's Disc Burner software? I'm using the built-in drive on my TiBook. p

Reply: (edit)About all I can say is have you tried burning the disk in HFS+/9660 format? It's the option that comes up first, aka "Standard". I'm having a similar problem and that way did work for me.
