Comment: I have an iMac running 10.1.5 and I'm trying to burn CDs using iTunes 2.04 and an external Iomega Zip CD650. I am getting the error 'CD burning failed because an unknown error ocurred (-7932)'. I've tried everything, including reducing the burn speed to 2x and disconnecting all other USB devices. Can anyone help?

Reply: (edit)According to Apple's Knowledge Base: "This alert may appear if you are using media of marginal quality, or if you have a slower CD-R drive set to burn at maximum speed. Try a different kind of disc, or a different brand or manufacturer of disc." What type of media are you using? Have you tried other media? James

Reply: (edit)Thanks for your reply. I've tried Memorex and Verbatim CD-R's, both 700Mb 1-24x compatible. Also BASF CD-R's (650Mb). All to no avail.

Reply: (edit)I had a similar problem using the same CD burner but on OS 9.2.2 - I turned off the "authoring support / disc burner / firewire authoring" extensions and the problem vanished!

Reply: (edit)You are limited to burning at 2X for audio CDs on the Mac with USB, so don't bother trying with 4X. Have you tried burning more than one type of media at 2X? Have you tried burning audio CDs in Toast, or some other CD-burning program? Do data CDs burn OK for you? I would try upgrading to iTunes 3 as well and see if that helps.
