I have a que fire burner 24x.10x.40x. The thing worked fine for a while and now my system can't seem to find it anymore! Whats up with that? I am using toast titanium and on os 9.2.2. The folks over at QPS are lame and clueless. I tried what they suggested: duplicating the mac 9.2.2 base and turning off Auth. support, disc burner extension, firewire auth. support, and the sdap auth. support while making sure the Toast cd reader and firewire support was on. Does this sound right? oh yeh, the system profiler can't even see it. any ideas?

I've seen this with the QPS drives when they are powered on with a CD already in the drive. I found it was necessary to manually eject (with a paperclip) the CD, power off the drive, then re- hook it up to the Mac.
Try plugging the drive in to the Mac after the Mac has already booted up and see if it shows up on the bus.
Is the green light on the drive solid, or is the orange light solid or blinking?

interesting. Thanks. I'll give this a try and see what happends. I was also instructed to reverse the firewire cord ; for some uncanny reason seemed to work for some people. The light is a solid green and seemingly ready to go, the system just can't see it.
