Can't view html emails in MacMail

I'm unable to view forwarded html emails, I have enabled "display html images and embedded objects in html messages" in the preferences menu and this makes no difference. So overall I cannot view newsletters, html invites etc.. Anyone got any ideas??

Have rou rebuilt your mailboxes? From the Mailbox menu, choose Rebuild. From The mail help, serach for "Messages are missing, incomplete, or garbled" without the quotes.
Have you rebuilt the entire mail program? Does this happen in a new user?
