can't share files with powerbook

Hi, I am having problems sharing files between a mac powerbook and my pc, I am using a standard crossover cable. I am Internet through a shared connection the conection enters my pc and then is shared to the mac, when I try to connect from the mac to the pc to get to my shared folder it doesn't work, file sharin gis already enabled on my windows xp but when I try to cinnect i get an error -36 on the mac

To fix the -36 error, click "GO", "Connect to Server",
then TYPE smb://IPaddress of the windows machine!
