Modem/connection was working fine. Changed config to connect via temporary cable router. Now I can't get the dial up to function. AOL had me delete preferences and turn apple talk off(via chooser). So far all has failed. I did notice that Apple talk has AOL in the pull down but I can't select it; it gives me a network error.
I've trashed preferences on apple talk, netscape and aol. Modem test works fine, I even can connect to there New modem configuration line, but once I select the number, the modem times out. AOL gave up on me, stating that I needed to contact Apple.
Any thoughts?

make sure your TCPIP settings are set to use PPP and NOT Ethernet. I think its just the configuration settings in TCPIP. I wouldnt worry about apple talk on the dialup.

if you use AOL, try reinstalling aol?
