Reply: (edit)What OS CD are you trying to use? Is it the original CD-ROM drive that came in the machine? p

Reply: (edit)I don't have the original CD but I'm trying with the 8.5 system CD. The raison I am trying to do it is that my Starmax is 'new' machine for me and I would like to initialize the HD. Also I prefer to be able to do it if I ever have a problem with my HD. Thanks.

Reply: (edit)The clones generally don't play nice with anything after 8.1 without some hacking. Good info here: http://lowendmac.net/ Also, try holding cmd-opt-shift-delete instead. p

Reply: (edit)I tried the Cmd/Shift/Opt/Delete keys - its not working for me. Somebody told me that the cd-rom drive will not work without FWB toolkit onto new OS. Its true because I can't even make a copy of an item from a cd - Starmax freezes ! What do you think about ?
