can't read .mov files from Mac on a PC!

i have some quicktime movie files that were made with macromedia director on a Mac... transferred the files to a PC, and quicktime can't "recognize the file"..!
help! any suggestions? a program to convert the file? something up with binary code of it or something? let me know asap... thanx :)

the thing is, it isn't really a .mov. On windows properties, it is a document. Even on mac properties it is a document. i think it will work if you add a .avi or .mov to the end of the file name on Mac.

most likely the were saved with an automatic function (not specifically set at mac binary or text) i did try adding .mov or .avi before, no luck :(
