can't open a dmg file !!!

i don't know why, but i just can't open dmg and files anymore! the dik mounter just don't launch fully anymore.... if someone had the reason, would be realy great! thanks for all!

Try tossing out the Disk Copy prefs in your prefs folder. Also, see if it will launch OK if you just double-click the app, in which case you might be trying to open a corrupted DMG file.

Don't listen to the last guy. I troubleshot the problem on my machine with Apple support. They suggested using Repair Privileges Utility at the Apple Support website (if you have 10.1.5), upgrading to Jaguar or doing a whole new reinstall/clean. You would save yourself a lot of time and effort to do the ladder. Also, you might want to try to open the .dmg file in OS9 and then restarting in 10. That way you could save the .pkg separately and not have to worry about .dmg or .img. This of course is a temporary solution. Hope this helps.

No, you called Apple support because you had no friggin clue and they told you to try a few things that might be the problem. Just because their order of things to try differs from mine doesn't mean either I or Apple is wrong. It just means we have different perspectives. I suggest you think about that.

I got really excited for a second there. *Open a dmg in OS9!* Cripes, if I could do that, what a different desktop I would have today. That ability is what I'm reading this board looking for. I'm sure there are warez, they just aren't herez.
