I was able to fdisk/mbr and also copy Windows .cab files to the drive but when I try to install Windows it locks on scandisk and the drive beeps I am able to install Dos 6.22 but type c:\help and the drive also locks and beeps? when I do get a error message it says (data error on hard disk)? is it just impossible to use Mac drives in a PC? thanks for your info. Hi, You say you ran fdisk, did you run an actual windows format? I recently had an old mac given to me to experiment with and I plan to try and put win 3.1 on it. Maybe we can learn together! Let me know if you come up with anything, I'll do the same. Thanks.

If it failed scandisk then you may have bad sectors. I never have problem using Mac drives on my PC or PC drive in my Mac (Mac taht uses IDE drive that is). Try partition magic?

You fdisk /mbr 'ed ? Just run the entire FDISK program, not just fdisk/mbr.
After that format the drive and go. I am using the drive from my mac in my pc cause i upgraded the Macs hard drive to better hold digital video (geeze that stuff is huge)

Windows wont run on a Mac Processor. Not without extra software, even then it only emulates the intel architecture.
