I just recently tried to download the software for a visor organizer that someone gave me, and the installation said it was unsuccesful, upon trying to delete the unsuccesfull installation i was told that two of the files were locked. I tried holding shift-option with no effect, renaming the items, putting them in a folder, and finally i downloaded a program called iCan with a "brute force" force empty option. None of these things worked. I also tried going to the terminal and entering sudo rm and the file and it told me that the file is a directory and didn't delete it. Can anyone suggest something? I'm using an iBook with Mac OS 10.2.8

Open the terminal and type:
cd ~/.Trash <hit return>
sudo rm -rf
put a space after the f and drag the item you want deleted to the terminal so that its path is automatically entered, then press return
give it your admin password and hit return
