Comment:

I put some files I don't need anymore into the trash
to delete them (they are pretty big files) and they will
not delete. Whenever I go into the trash, I see all of
the files there, but with no icon anymore. Whenever I
click on them, the dissapear immediately. Whenevr I
am on a peer-to-peer program I can see people
downloading those files from me... but whenever I
search for them it appears they are not there! I find
this to be quite a suspicious problem... can anyone
help me out as to why they are still on my computer
and how to delete them for good?

try turning off the peer to peer program, then emptying the trash.

i've not used jaguar personally, but assume it's linux like. so if you can open a command shell and try to find the location of the trash can then delete the files from there.

usefull shell commands:

cd - change directory
rm - remove a file use -r to recursivley remove a directory
locate "file" - locate is a program usually distributed with linux but i'm pretty sure jaguar would have it or something similar.

hope this helps.

remember to be careful when deleting files.
