Hey, I tried searching around the web, and couldn't really find a clear answer.
I'm making videos and am going to put them on my site. I've been saving them in a lossless AVI Codec, but then convert them to a smaller file size Xvid AVI.
I want people with both Windows and Macs to be able to view these videos. Can Macs easily play AVI files encoded with Xvid?

VLC handles AVIs quite nicely, but it isn't a pre-installed program. Best bet for making sure Macs can read the file is using a Quicktime format (mp4). Macs can also handle wmvs if Flip4Mac is installed. I see a lot of sites now that use 2 links for videos, one in wmv format, the other in mp4.
