Reply: (edit)You can leave it on forever. I have two OS X machines running 24/7. Only restart for an install when required. OS X is meant to be left on all the time.

Reply: (edit)agree with bobw. I've had my mac mini for a month and only restart it when new updates are installed or when i need to transport it to a new locale. But then again, I've had some of my windows boxes up for over six months too, just depends on the user and what you're doing.... Reply: (edit)i have had one on for almost three years, only restarting for about six freezes and various updates, i have another one that i leave on for days at a time, but turn it to sleep when i travel, so it really doesn't get turned off either. these machines are so different from pcs, they stay on all the time and work better that way. they should either never be turned off or never turned on at all from my experiences
