Ok Dum Question.
Can i buy Mac OS And install it on my normal PC That runs XP.
I really like the Mac look but there just to expensive and i've used windowsblinds to make a similair look to mac but its not gd enuf.So Can i buy Mac OS For my norm PC Format and install a mac os?

if you want a different look, try something like LiteStep, http://www.litestep.com
it is totally flexible and is totally customizable (and it has a skin that looks like OS X.
And I agree... the price of a mac compared to a PC is WAAAAYY too high for the low-end outdated (when compared to PC) hardware you get IMO.the best way to accelerate a mac is as 9.8 metres per second squared

yes u can install mac on a normal pc, u would to get a new hard drive from apple mac, put it in yr normal pc start up your pc with the boot disc inside the drive and hold down c and follow the on screen setup and u will be all down in a day , i m still working on the installing mac o a normal hard drive i let u know when its done

dean's message is completely incorrect. Apple uses the same hard drives as normal PC hard drives, and if you wanted you could install Mac OS X onto a hard drive, and then put it in your PC but from there its just weighing your computer down because Mac OS X is made to be run off of a PowerPC processor not an x86.

SORD is correct, beside, PC uses FAT16, FAT32, and NTFS file format for the hard drive, MAC uses HFS, HFS+ (OS 8.1 OR HIGHER), MAC SERVER UFS. MAC OS X 10.3 PHANTER can read PC NTFS drive (read only). When you put MAC drive in the PC when you run fdisk it will show as non-dos partition.

Yes! Of course you can..but you need an 'emulator', which, as the name implies, emulates Mac hardware on a Windows PC..the best one I know of is Basilisk 2, and you run it in windows, either full screen, or in a window..the only thing is it only emulates a 68k mac, so you wouldn't be able to run power pc apps.
If you do buy a Mac OS disk for it, I would urge you to get an OS8 disk, it's the last that will run on basilisk, and it's more up-to-date than 7.5.3.
A google seach should find basilisk 2 (I don't know the website address, but theres one dedicated to it- it's free and open source too).

I would agree with dominicus. I have set-up several configurations and used different OS's (mostly in the System 7.x series). Emulation is cool. It makes my Wintel "More Mac'ish (Whatever that means). I also expirimented with the Bochs x86 emulator (I know this is the Mac Forum), where I tried most of the DOS's and Windows (and now Desqview/X).
