Comment:

I have an old Mac SE/20 and I want to network it with my Quadra. I got a disk with appleshare on it, but I don't want to constantly insert the disk when I want to transfer files. I copied all the extensions, but when I tried to tranfer, I got an error saying that some resources were not found. My guess is that a file called Access Privliges in the System File was not copied. When I tried to, I got a message saying only keyboard layouts and sounds could be copied. Is there anyway I can hack the file and insert the program? That or does anyone have an old version of Apple Share?

Do you mean SE/30??

I think you're chasing 'shadows' on this one. I remember
the 'resource not found' when the appletalk or ethernet
driver had not loaded. Or appleshare control panel wasn't
up and running, etc etc.

Without any doubt, get an external SCSI drive (it can be as
small as 20mb - not GB!) and do a full clean install of
6.0.7 which is free off the internet.

Can't say i've ever heard of 6.1.8. Check on the database
at www.mactracker.ca for your model's hardware and
software requirements. From the database:

Maximum Mac OS: System 7.5.5 - way to go!! Make sure
your Quadra and SE has the same version. it will make
things easier, although not strictly essential.
