Hi,

I'm trying to make a back up copy of OS X.
I dragged the contents of the cd to my
hard drive and tried to burn from the hard
drove but the burnt disks do not work. I
can not start the mac from the disks while
holding the C key and when I run the
install from the disk, it wont let me restart.
Should I have done a disk to disk copy?
Will I need a separate CD burner or
drive? Am I even allowed to make a back up?

Thanks!

Legally you can back-up any software you own.
Also OS X can be burnt on a Mac without a
problem.

Start Up Disk is unable to select Install
CD at Start Up. Error (-2)

Again, it wont work by holding "C" at start

Ummmm..... how do I do that? I am using
Toast 4 with an iomega zip cd 650. There
isnt that option anywhere in the program
that I can find. I tried installing Disk
Burner from apple and that didnt have the
option either.

Don't drag the folders to your hard drive,
use Disk Copy or Toast itself to make a
disk image instead. Use Toast to mount
that image, then drag the image to the
Toast window. Click the 'Data' button, and
follow it through; somewhere in there will
be a window with 4 checkboxes, one of
which is 'Make bootable'. (Sorry I can't be
more specific, I don't have Toast installed
on any of these machines and I'm
working from memory.)

Use Carbon Copy Cloner to back up your OS X install to a writable disk image, and then burn the disk image.
