I use Adaptec Toast. When I copy MP3-files (radio-button 'files and folders') the resulting CD does not work on a MP3 player. 'No MP3' tells the display. When I insert the CD in my IBook, the files play in SoundJam.

You have to burn it as and MP3 cd and not just as a data cd containing mp3s. In Toast Titanium you have to go to other and then select mp3 disc. You can also burn an mp3 cd from iTunes. Just select preferences and go to the cd burning tab. Then just select mp3 cd. Your iBook can play them either way buy your portable needs that special mp3 cd format. Hope it helps.
